New Licenses

  • KYPO-LD 27.x Tacna (LMO Christian Media Inc.) has requested a license to cover its flash cut to digital. Technical specifications: Technical specifications: Ch 27; TL 33° 45' 7" N, 113° 40' 33" W (approx. 5 miles SW of Salome); ERP 5 kW ND HP; HAAT 112 m. (367 ft).

Programming Changes

  • KPAZ-TV 21.x (20) Phoenix (Trinity Broadcasting of Arizona Inc.) has rebranded its 21.2 subchannel from The Hillsong Channel to TBN Inspire. There is not much change in the actual programming content.
  • K35OU-D 21.x Tucson (Ventana Television Inc.) has returned to air.
  • KDNU-LD 30.x Las Vegas NV (Craig Ruark LLC) has returned to air.

  • Gray Television has consummated its purchase of Meredith stations, including the following that can be viewed in Arizona:

  • Allen Media has requested a corporate restructuring, resulting in an upstream change in ownership of Tucson TV License Company LLC, licensee of the following stations:
    • KVOA 4.x Tucson
    • K04QP-D Casas Adobes
    • K28OY-D Sierra Vista
  • Apollo Global Management requested and was granted a modification to its corporate restructuring, resulting in an upstream change in ownership of Blackhawk Broadcasting LLC, licensee of KYMA-DT 13.x Yuma.
  • Innovate (formerly HC2) requested and was granted a corporate restructuring, consolidating all licenses under the licensee HC2 Station Group Inc. The transaction has been consummated. The following stations viewable in Arizona were affected, having their licensee changed from HC2 LPTV Holdings Inc. to HC2 Station Group Inc.:

  • Jeff Chang has been granted permission by the FCC to transfer KBFY-LD 41.x (2) Yuma to KBFY LLC, a subsidiary of Cocola Broadcasting Companies LLC. The parties have filed for consummation.
  • Sovryn Holdings Inc. has requested an extension of time to consummate its purchase of KPHE-LD 44.x (16) from Lotus TV of Phoenix LLC.
  • Spanish Independent Broadcast Network has agreed to sell K14RK-D to Good News TV for $1.5 million. Good News TV is in the process of raising money to purchase the station and as of December 31, 2021, has raised about $650,000, or 43% of the purchase price.
  • Lowcountry 34 Media LLC has consummated the purchase of the following six Arizona stations from Landover 2 LLC:
    • K40MZ-D Golden Valley (now K34QY-D)
    • K41MO-D Lake Havasu (now K10RW-D)
    • K44MD-D Parker (now K04SE-D)
    • K45MP-D Golden Valley (now K08QN-D)
    • K45MW-D Sentinel (now K06QW-D)
    • K50NK-D Parker (now K05NJ-D)
  • The license of KMCC 34.x (32) Laughlin NV (Ion Television License LLC) has been transferred from Scripps Media Inc. to Scripps National Division Holding Company as part of a corporate restructuring that was requested, granted and consummated.

Construction Permits and Special Temporary Authorizations (STAs) Granted

  • K12XP-D 22.x Phoenix (HC2 LPTV Holdings Inc.) was granted a modification to its displacement construction permit, changing antennas, moving 6 m (20 ft) higher on the tower and increasing the electrical beam tilt from 1.3° to 2°. Technical specifications: Ch 12; TL 33° 19' 57" N, 112° 3' 59" W (South Mtn.); ERP 3 kW DA HP 2° EBT; HAAT 471 m (1545 ft).
  • K27PC-D Yuma (Jose Rivera Miramontes) requested and has been granted a construction permit to change antennas and reduce power. Technical specifications: Ch 27; TL 32° 40' 21" N, 114° 20' 10" W (Telegraph Pass); ERP 1 kW DA HP; HAAT 400 m (1312 ft).
  • K35OU-D 21.x Tucson (Ventana Television Inc.) requested and was granted a Silence STA. The station has since filed a resume operations notice.
  • KSNV 3.x Las Vegas NV (KUPN Licensee LLC) requested and was granted an Experimental STA to conduct an ATSC 3.0 broadcast on RF channel 33 during the Consumer Electronics Show, which ran January 5-8. Technical specifications: Ch 33; TL 36° 0' 27" N, 115° 0' 27" W (Black Mtn.); ERP 42 kW DA EP 1.05° EBT; HAAT 374 m (1227 ft).
  • KDNU-LD 30.x Las Vegas NV (Craig Ruark LLC) requested and was granted a Silence STA. The station has since filed a resume operations notice.
  • KGHD-LD 6.x Las Vegas NV (Obidia Porras) requested and was granted a modification to its digital flash cut construction permit to add vertical polarization. Technical specifications: Ch 6; TL 35° 56' 46" N, 115° 2' 37" W (Arden Peak); ERP 3 kW DA EP; HAAT 571 m (1873 ft).
  • KKRP-LD 13.x (21) St. George UT (Scripps Broadcasting Holdings LLC) requested and has been granted a Silence STA, as its frequency is being taken over by KMYU.
  • K26PR-D Needles CA (Good News Broadcasting Network Inc.) requested and was granted a construction permit to change its transmitting antenna, which will no longer require beam tilt. Technical specifications: Ch 26; TL 34° 49' 43" N, 114° 36' 41" (Needles SDA Church); ERP 15 kW DA HP; HAAT -67 m (-220 ft) (23 m [75 ft] AGL).

Construction Permits, Tolling, and STAs Requested

  • KASW 61.x (27) Phoenix (Scripps Broadcasting Holdings LLC) has requested an extension of its Legal STA to continue to broadcast its non-primary programming on ATSC 1.0 stations with no ATSC 3.0 simulcast so that it may continue to use its bandwidth to host NextGen services for other Phoenix-market stations.
  • KBFY-LD 41.x (2) Fortuna (KBFY LLC) has requested tolling of the deadline for construction of its permanent facilities until April 30, citing significant delays from the transmitter manufacturer. My Central Valley LLC, parent of KBFY LLC, has requesting tolling of its deadline until April 30.
  • KWSJ-LD 9.x Snowflake (KM Communications Inc.) has requested tolling of its construction permit deadline until March 15, citing inability of manufacturers to deliver equipment due to supply chain issues.
  • KWKM-LD 13.x Show Low (KM Communications Inc.) has requested tolling of its construction permit deadline until March 15, citing inability of manufacturers to deliver equipment due to supply chain issues.
  • K03ID-D Flagstaff (One Ministries Inc.) has been denied its request to move transmitter sites from Mormon Mtn. to Mingus Mtn. due to the distance of the move exceeding the 30-mile limit for a minor change application, and has been denied waiver of the 30-mile limit due to insufficient cause.
  • K03ID-D Flagstaff (One Ministries Inc.) has requested tolling of its original construction permit deadline due to delays by the FCC in resolving its request to move its transmitter site from Mormon Mtn. to Mingus Mtn. The FCC has now denied the transmitter site change request and the tolling request is pending.
  • K04SE-D Parker (Lowcountry 34 Media LLC) has requested tolling of its construction permit until May 10 due to unstated reasons beyond the company's control.
  • K06QW-D Sentinel (Lowcountry 34 Media LLC) has requested tolling of its construction permit until May 10 due to unstated reasons beyond the company's control.
  • K08QN-D Golden Valley (Lowcountry 34 Media LLC) has requested tolling of its construction permit until May 10 due to unstated reasons beyond the company's control.
  • K34QY-D Golden Valley (Lowcountry 34 Media LLC) has requested tolling of its construction permit until May 10 due to unstated reasons beyond the company's control.
  • K42IQ-D (K21ON-D) Flagstaff (Edge Spectrum Inc.) has requested a waiver of tolling requirements and an extension of its construction permit deadline of 11/26/2021 to construct a new NextGen station to serve the Flagstaff area with broadcast and data services, citing requirement to change channels due to spectrum repack and inability to get equipment due to supply chain disruptions. The request is under review.
  • K42IQ-D (K21ON-D) Flagstaff (Edge Spectrum Inc.) has requested an extension of its Silence STA and a waiver of the rule that revokes the license of a station is silent for more than twelve consecutive months, citing the same reasons behind its tolling waiver request. The Silence STA extension request is pending.
  • KGHD-LD 6.x Las Vegas NV (Obidia Porras) has requested an Engineering STA to operate an analog FM audio carrier to occupy part of its broadcast stream. NextGen television broadcast will occupy 5.509 MHz of the 6 MHz signal. Technical specifications: Ch 6; TL 35° 56' 46" N, 115° 2' 37" W (Arden Peak); ERP 3 kW DA EP; HAAT 571 m (1873 ft).
  • KMSQ-LD 15.x Mesquite NV (Tiny Tortoise Investments LLC) has requested tolling of its original construction permit deadline until July 10, citing delays in delivery of equipment.

Expired, Expiring, Canceled and Dismissed

  • The FCC has dismissed the application of KO3ID-D Flagstaff (One Ministries Inc.) to change transmitter sites.
  • The FCC has canceled the license of K23HB Flagstaff (Prism Broadcasting Network Inc.) and has canceled its digital flash cut construction permit.

Notices

  • The FCC has announced Auction 112, an auction of 27 full power television licenses, set to occur in June 2022. The following allotments are being auctioned in Arizona:
    • Flagstaff - UHF channel 32
    • Yuma - VHF channel 11
