Anyone know what the implications of this modification would be? Would reception improve farther from the tower? Would this make a difference without a power increase as well?

KAZT-CD 7.x (36) Phoenix (KAZT LLC) has requested a modification to its construction permit, raising the radiation center. Technical specifications: Ch 36; TL 33° 20' 2" N, 112° 3' 43" W (South Mountain); ERP 15 kW ND EP 1.5° EBT; HAAT 491 m (1610 ft).

KAZT-CD 7.x RF 36 is getting interference in parts of the East Valley from Tucson's KUVE-CD, also on RF 36. The modification is aimed at getting its strongest signal farther out in order to overcome the interference. In addition, KAZT is getting interference along the I-17 corridor from KSAZ translator K36AE-D, broadcasting from Mingus Mtn. above Cottonwood/Clarkdale, but they are working with Fox Phoenix, owner of the translator, to resolve that.

The Las Vegas station that was once K30PL lit up today under the call letters of KDNU-LD.. However, I did see a call fo them as KNDU-LP. They have active 7.1 as virtual (rf 30.1) for American Classic TV or ACE, and colorbars on 7.2. ACE is in 720p 16.9.

The call sign, per the FCC database, is KDNU-LD (not to be confused with KNDU in Central Washington state). Not sure what the meaning of the calls is, if any. So they're now using virtual channel 7 and not 41 as reported earlier?

Has anyone noticed that KPHO and KUTP have been broadcasting at a lower power during the day this past week? I will barely get 70% signal strength and the picture breaks up (even with my outdoor antenna) but sometime after 5 PM the signal strength goes right back up to 100% and it's fine.
