Construction Permits and Special Temporary Authorizations (STAs) Granted
- KMCC 34.x (32) Laughlin NV (Ion Television Licensee LLC) requested and was granted a construction permit to change the broadcast antenna, increase the power, lower the antenna height, and change polarization to 50% elliptical at its DTS2 location. The permit was requested in November 2022 and granted in December. Technical specifications: Ch 32; TL 36° 7' 45" N, 115° 11' 28" W (KTNV studios); ERP 200 kW H / 100 kW V DA 1° EBT; HAAT 60 m / 197 ft.
- K04SE-D Parker (Lowcountry 34 Media LLC) requested and has been granted a Silence STA for 180 days following the collapse of its broadcast tower.
- KLVD-LD 23.x Las Vegas NV (Word of God Fellowship Inc.) requested and has been granted a construction permit to change its broadcast antenna. Technical specifications: Ch 23; TL 36° 0' 36" N; 115° 0' 23" W (Black Mtn.); ERP 15 kW DA HP; HAAT 350 m / 1148 ft.
Construction Permits and STAs Requested
- KAZF 32.x Flagstaff (Gray Television Licensee LLC) has requested to move its broadcast antenna lower on its tower due to interference from other equipment attached to the tower. The antenna model will also change. Technical specifications: Ch 32; TL 34° 58' 8" N; 111° 30' 31" W (Mormon Mtn.); ERP 100 kW H / 30 kW V DA 1° EBT; HAAT 433 m / 1421 ft.
- K04SE-D Parker (Lowcountry 34 Media LLC) has requested to relocate permanent operations to a tower 24 miles east of the licensed site. Complicating the request is a condition that Lowcountry 34 Media agreed to in order to build the station that the licensed broadcast site was to be permanent and that the station would not move for at least one year following licensing. Although the station commenced operations on or about June 6, 2022, it was not licensed until October 18, due to Mexican coordination delays. The tower at the licensed location is severely damaged and the tower owner has no plans to repair it, nor will they allow Lowcountry 34 Media to repair it. Accordingly, Lowcountry 34 Media is requesting waiver of the license condition due to circumstances beyond its control. Although the proposed new location is 24 miles closer to Phoenix, the antenna rotation would direct the main lobe of the signal toward the west, toward the current licensed site and away from Phoenix. Technical specifications: Ch 4; TL 33° 35' 45" N, 113° 21' 1" W (Near jct. I-10 & Ave. 75 E); ERP 1.0 kW DA HP; HAAT -12 m / -39 ft (6 m / 20 ft AGL).
- K32MH-D 9.x Washington UT (University of Utah) has requested a displacement construction permit to move to channel 29. The station currently receives 14.39% interference from both K31EA-D Littlefield and K32NC-D Toquerville UT, and causes 55.8% interference to K32NC-D. Since Entravision decided not to convert KWWB-LP to digital, channel 29 is open. Technical specifications: Ch 29; TL 37° 9' 19" N, 113° 52' 59" W (West Mtn. Peak); DA HP 1.75° EBT; HAAT 1078 m / 3536 ft.
Expired, Expiring, Canceled and Dismissed
- KDTP 11.x Holbrook (Community Television Educators Inc.) has allowed a construction permit to expire that had authorized a 160 kW facility near the Mogollon Rim.
- Weigel's contract to provide MeTV programming to KAZT 7.x Prescott (KAZT LLC) is set to expire in July. It is unknown if the contract will be renewed or if Weigel will move MeTV programming to its own station in Phoenix, KEJR-LD 40.x (32).
License Renewals
- The FCC has renewed the licenses of the following television stations in Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah through June 1, 2030:
- KLVX 10.x (11) Las Vegas NV (Clark County School District)
- K06PG-D 10.x Laughlin NV (Clark County School District)
- K25LU-D 10.x Mesquite NV (Clark County School District)
- K30OI-D 8.x Camp Verde (The Camp Verde TV Club Inc.) has amended its license renewal application to state that it is on the air.
Comments
Update: KAZF's proposed change was authorized by the FCC.
I sincerely doubt that Weigel bought KMOH and KEJR-LD so that KAZT could continue to air MeTV. But if it does move it will probably have consequences though since, for me, I can get KAZT-CD almost 100% of the time from my location but can't pick up KEJR-LD at all.
I share your opinion RE: MeTV, but didn't wish to presume.
dhett, you just continue to keep posting the facts and I'll continue to presume ;)
Don't know what's going on at KAZT-CD but they've been only transmitting channel 7.1 since Friday night (June 7th). At first they had a message on their website Saturday morning saying they'd be back up and running that night but as of now it's been changed to Sunday night.
Wow, spam getting ridiculous here! Anyway...
I couldn't figure out where MeTV went on Cox, it was unrelated to the carriage dispute with DirecTV. Then I read:
Weigel's contract to provide MeTV programming to KAZT 7.x Prescott (KAZT LLC) is set to expire in July. It is unknown if the contract will be renewed or if Weigel will move MeTV programming to its own station in Phoenix, KEJR-LD 40.x (32).
I'm assuming it's moved but since the work TV is Cox I'd have to re-scan later on an OTA one. Unfortunately no Mission: Impossible or Tune-In With ME tonight. (KEJR on Cox-Ch56 still works but still no guide)
Once again Rabbit Ears is THE place for this info! THANK YOU!!!
MeTV is still airing on KAZT 7.2 as of July 11.
