Trip, your thesis is great. I'd like to link to it.
Go right ahead! =)
Great thesis, congress is always doing something. I recently found a paper I wrote in my TV and American Culture class about the digital switch. This is a quote from that 1997 paper: "Digital broadcasting sounds great to congress, but is the general public going to go for it immediately?" Apparently the answer was yes because we didn't anticipate the drop in price of digital TV sets.
A well-stated defense of broadcast television - good work!
This needs to be read by every single commissioner on the FCC. Of course, for it to have any impact in today's world, be sure to include a briefcase stuffed with unmarked bills.
The earthquake and tsunami endured by our Japanese friends is compelling proof of Trip's thesis showing what will happen to telecom/internet infrastructure when disaster strikes. It is in the maximum public interest for all Americans and broadcasters to vigorously resist this FCC's scheme to sell away our valued public resource.
Very nice read. A great explanation and selling points.
