• On December 19, 2025, the FCC adopted a rule change that required translator stations to only use a call sign consisting of the letter K or W, followed by the station's two-digit RF channel number, two or three additional letters to uniquely identify the station, plus the "-D" suffix. Translator stations were given an opportunity to convert their licenses from translator station to low power station and keep their call signs; those who declined and had call signs that did not comply with the new rules were automatically assigned compliant call signs. The following non-compliant translator stations viewable in Arizona received new compliant call signs:

The modification, if granted, may not get built, as Mohave County has also applied for a new translator TV station on UHF channel 30. LPTV and TV Translator Filing Opportunity

On March 19, 2026, the FCC opened a filing opportunity for new LPTV and TV Translator stations and for major changes by Class A, LPTV, and TV translator stations. Unlike the previous filing opportunity, there is no restriction on distance from a major market city.
