Programming changes

  • K30DT Flagstaff (KAZT, LLC) has flash cut to digital, rebroadcasting all subchannels of KAZT. The station has not yet applied for its license to cover the construction permit.
  • K38IZ-D Phoenix (Spanish Independent Broadcasting Network) is silent, possibly due to signal upgrade.
  • KPHE-LD 44.x (16) Phoenix (Lotus TV of Phoenix, LLC) has replaced its simulcast of XEWH 6 Hermosillo, Sonora (Telemax), on channel 44.2 with Retro TV, and has replaced The Family Channel programming on channel 44.4 with PBJ.
  • KFPB-LD 50.x Phoenix (Globe LPTV, LLC) has again begun airing TeleRomántica on channel 50.6.
  • K19FD Camp Verde (Camp Verde TV Club) is silent.
  • KVMY 21.x (22) Las Vegas NV (KUPN Licensee, LLC) has added Get TV to its lineup, airing on channel 21.3.

Transactions

  • As part of corporate restructuring, the licenses for KVOA 4.x (23) Tucson, K04QP-D Casas Adobes and K20FO Sierra Vista (all KVOA Communications LLC) have been transferred from Evening Post Industries, Inc., to EPI Group, LLC. The transaction has been consummated and the stations' 2006 (still ungranted) and 2014 renewal applications have been amended to reflect the change.
  • News-Press & Gazette Company, parent of KECY-TV 9.x El Centro CA and KESE-LP 35 Yuma (Gulf-California Broadcast Company) has reassigned the licenses of the two stations to NPG of Yuma-El Centro, LLC. The transaction has been consummated and the renewal application of KESE-LP has been amended to reflect the change.

Construction permits and Special Temporary Authorizations (STAs) granted

  • K15HY Williams (KPHO Broadcasting Corporation) applied for and has been granted a construction permit to flash cut to digital. Technical specifications: Ch 15; TL 35-12-1 N, 112-12-16 W (Bill Williams Mtn.); ERP 1 kW directional; HAAT 761 m.

  • K38AI-D 3.x Cottonwood (KPHO Broadcasting Corporation) has requested to modify its rotation from 45° to 65°, add a 3° electrical beam tilt to its signal, and to utilize a full service emissions mask filter. Broadcast channel, location, and signal strength remain the same.
  • K19FD Camp Verde (Camp Verde TV Club) has requested Silent STA due to transmitter failure.
  • K03ID-D Flagstaff (One Ministries, Inc.) has requested an extension of time to build out its new station, citing financial hardship and the impending spectrum repacking.

Cranston's KMCC-34 Laughlin/Las Vegas, NV, has added a The Cool simulcast on their new 34.3 sub-channel. It's possibly a placeholder until somethinbg better comes along.

It looks like KPHE 44.2 has changed it's line up. It is now RetroTV at least it was last night. Retro is owned by Luken. It also looks like 44.4 was changed to PBJ from Family TV.

New Company from Bounce TV Co-Founder and Longtime
Turner Broadcasting Exec Jonathan Katz

ATLANTA (April 3, 2014) -- Two new demo-specific broadcast networks created by the architect and Chief Operating Officer of successful African American network Bounce TV will launch in the summer of 2014.

Escape will target women 25-54 with a brand of programming that's daring, sexy and anchored in stories of crime and mystery. The network's mix of theatrical
motion pictures and off-net series will emphasize heroines and heroes that slip away from pursuit or peril, while providing viewers themselves the opportunity
to escape from their daily lives.

With a heavy focus on western and war genres, action-oriented Grit will be a new television brand built around the classic male hero archetype. Featuring stars
like John Wayne, Clint Eastwood and Chuck Norris, the network will reach men 25-54 with theatricals and off-network series that are bold, brave and
legendary.

The two new networks will be part of Katz Broadcasting, a new company established by Bounce TV founder/COO and former Turner Broadcasting executive
Jonathan Katz. Katz Broadcasting will own and operate the two new networks. Katz will serve as President and CEO while continuing as COO of Bounce TV.

Still no news for Albuquerque's tv market for Grit TV. I think our tv market is the most snubbed for adding new sub channels.

The "Grit" promo loop is running on 33.3, prior to tomorrow's launch.
