Capturing 3.0 Data

To capture 3.0 data for RabbitEars, follow these steps.

1) On Windows, open HDHomeRun Config GUI and tune to your 3.0 station(s). On Linux, tune to the 3.0 station, then open a command line and run this command for the appropriate tuner number: hdhomerun_config <device_id> get /tuner0/plpinfo

2) View what PLPs are available to you on each 3.0 station. May just be PLP0, may be a PLP0 and PLP1, etc. This example will assume you have a PLP0 and PLP1 on channel 36. (If there's a PLP16, and selecting it in addition to the other PLPs can cause strange behavior if the ti=cti; if that is the case, do not include PLP16.) Screenshot this (on Windows) or copy and paste the text (on Linux) into an e-mail or text file for me.

2a) If you have the Dev upgrade, make sure you're on the newest firmware and then also run this command from the command line and copy and paste it into an e-mail as well: hdhomerun_config <device_id> get /tuner0/l1detail

3) Open your browser and go to this address with changes to reflect the channel number and PLPs:

http://hdhomerun.local:5004/auto/ch36p0p1?duration=15&format=dbg

(If you have the Dev upgrade, do this instead: http://hdhomerun.local:5004/auto/ch36p0p1?duration=15?format=alp-pcap )

Save the file with a name like the callsign of the station.

Note that, as an example, if there's only a PLP0 and it's on channel 15, you would change the end of the address to:

ch15p0?duration=15&format=dbg

4) Upload it to something like Google Drive, DropBox, OneDrive, etc. and send me the link and, if you can, the contents of the PLP info. In the alternative, I have an FTP available that it can be uploaded to.
