Programming Changes

  • KFPB-LD 50.x (25) Globe (Globe LPTV LLC) is again broadcasting on RF channel 25, virtual channel 50, although it may not have actually gone silent as reported last month; its new antenna pattern, required to protect co-channel KMSB Tucson, means that East Valley viewers may not always get reception, or may experience interference from KMSB.
  • KPHE-LD 44.x (16) Phoenix (Lotus TV of Phoenix LLC) has resumed airing The Family Channel on channel 44.6.
  • KINC 15.x (16) Las Vegas NV (Entravision Holdings LLC) has added Justice Channel on channel 15.4.
  • KGNG-LD 26.x Las Vegas NV (King Kong Broadcasting Inc.) replaced Retro TV with various programming on channel 26.4, then returned to Retro TV. King Kong has replaced Quest on 26.6 with ACTV, and Justice Channel on 26.8 with movies under the PSIP ID Movies+.

Call Sign Changes

  • K16EO-D 9.x Oro Valley/Tucson (Scripps Broadcast Holdings LLC) has changed its call sign to K27OP-D following licensing of its displacement facilities.
  • K21CX-D Tucson (Ventana Television Inc.) has changed its call sign to K35OU-D following licensing of its displacement facilities.
  • K44JR-D 13.x Laughlin NV (Scripps Broadcasting Holdings LLC) has changed its call sign to K20NW-D following licensing of its displacement facilities.

Transactions

  • KOLD-TV 13.x (32, 13) Tucson (KOLD License Subsidiary LLC) has become part of Gray Television Group, following consummation of Gray's merger with Raycom.
  • KKRP-LD 13.x (46) St. George UT (KSTU License LLC) is requested to be transferred from Tribune Media Company to Nexstar Media Group, as part of Nexstar's proposed acquisition of Tribune.
  • K43CC-D 13.x Santa Clara UT (KSTU License LLC) is requested to be transferred from Tribune Media Company to Nexstar Media Group, as part of Nexstar's proposed acquisition of Tribune.

Construction permits and Special Temporary Authorizations (STAs) granted

  • KDPH-LD 48.x (46) Phoenix (Community Television Educators Inc.) requested and has been granted a Silence STA. The station is not yet ready to move to RF channel 13, but is releasing RF channel 46 now for use by T-Mobile. KDPH plans to be on air by December 12, which will require an extension of the Silence STA, as they are only good for six months.
  • K21CX-D Tucson (Ventana Television Inc) was granted a displacement construction permit, having been displaced by KWBA-TV 58.x Sierra Vista. Technical specifications: Ch 35; TL 32° 24' 54" N, 110° 42' 58" (Mt. Bigelow); ERP 9.2 kW directional (3.3° electrical beam tilt); HAAT 1105 m.
  • KWWB-LP 45 Mesquite NV (Entravision Holdings LLC) has been granted a displacement construction permit to vacate the 600 MHz band and to transition to digital operations on channel 29. The request created a mutually exclusive scenario with K49AS-D Santa Clara UT, which requested the same channel from the same location, but when K49AS-D modified its application for channel 10 instead of channel 29, it cleared the mutual exclusivity, making the KWWB-LP application grantable. Technical specifications: Ch 29; TL 37° 9' 19" N, 113° 52' 52" W (West Mountain Peak); ERP 1 kW directional; HAAT 1086 m.
  • K49AS-D 2.x Santa Clara UT (KUTV Licensee LLC) has modified its displacement application to resolve the mutual exclusivity it had with KWWB-LP 45 Mesquite NV, and the modified application has been granted. The station's new call sign will be K10RP-D. Technical specifications: Ch 10; TL 37° 9' 19" N, 113° 53' 0" W (West Mountain Peak); ERP 1 kW non-directional; HAAT 1109 m.

Applications and Special Temporary Authorizations (STAs) requested

  • KDOS-LD 29.x Globe (KTVW License Partnership GP) has requested an Engineering STA to move operations to RF channel 19. KTVW License Partnership had determined that by changing the antenna pattern, it would avoid impermissible interference to co-channel KTAZ Phoenix on RF 29; however, NBC Telemundo, owners of KTAZ, objected, and KTVW License Partnership was forced to seek a new channel. Technical specifications: Ch 19; TL 33° 17' 21" N, 110° 49' 47" W (Pinal Mtn.); ERP 12 kW directional (2° electrical, 1° mechanical beam tilt); HAAT 1001 m.
  • K16FB-D Globe (Unimas Partnership of Phoenix) has requested an Engineering STA to move operation to RF channel 18. Unimas Partnership had determined that by changing the antenna pattern, it would avoid impermissible interference to co-channel KHRR Tucson on RF 16; however, NBC Telemundo, owners of KHRR, objected, and Unimas Partnership was forced to seek a new channel. Technical specifications: Ch 18; TL 33° 17' 21" N, 110° 49' 47" W (Pinal Mtn.); ERP 10 kW directional (2° electrical, 1° mechanical beam tilt); HAAT 1001 m.
