New licenses
- K03FB 8.x Snowflake (AZ Board of Regents for ASU) has requested a license to cover its flash cut to digital. The station has been broadcasting its digital signal for well over a year. Technical specifications: Ch 3; TL 34° 12' 22" N, 109° 56' 34" W (Porter Mtn.); ERP 0.3 kW directional; HAAT 265 m.
- K14KK-D 8.x Flagstaff (Arizona Board of Regents for ASU) has been granted a license to cover its construction permit to increase power. Technical specifications: Ch 14; TL 35° 14' 26" N, 111° 35' 48" W (Mt. Elden); ERP 0.63 kW directional; HAAT 606 m.
Programming changes
- KUAT-TV 6.x (30) Tucson (AZ Board of Regents/U of A) has dropped World programming from channel 6.3 and rebranded its lifestyle programming. Ready TV is now PBS 6 Plus and is available 24/7. The changes are also seen on channel 27.3 of satellite KUAS-TV 27.x (28) Tucson and translator K20GG-D 6.x Duncan, assuming the latter is back on air. Official launch was July 1 but the station was already branding as PBS 6 Plus the night before.
- KPHE-LD 44.x (16) Phoenix (Lotus TV of Phoenix) briefly replaced Telemax programming on channel 44.2 with a simulcast of LATV, but has since restored Telemax programming.
Transactions
- KKRP-LD 13.x (46) St. George UT (KSTU License LLC) and K43CC-D 13.x Santa Clara UT (KSTU License LLC) are included in parent station KSTU Salt Lake City's application for transfer of control from Tribune Media Company to Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. The sale of stations is pending FCC approval.
Construction permits and STA requests granted
- KUVE-DT 46.x Green Valley (Univision Tucson LLC) requested and was granted a construction permit to change to its post-repack channel. Technical specifications: Ch 34; TL 32° 24' 54" N, 110° 42' 58" W (Mt. Bigelow); ERP 137 kW directional (1.8° electrical beam tilt); HAAT 1113 m.
Spectrum repack news
T-Mobile has announced its plan to pay the costs of rural PBS translators in the 600 MHz band to relocate into the new TV bands. T-Mobile plan
There are many opinions about the repurposing of the 600 MHz band for wireless use, but hats off to T-Mobile for putting up the money to do this.

In Las Vegas, NewsMax has seemingly departed KNBX 31.2. The sub-channel now has a PSIP that reads "GET TV", but no GET programming yet. When Sinclair force feed their station Charge at the end of February several months ago, KSNV 3.3 was arm twisted to drop the very popular GET TV in Las Vegas.
Early this week, 702.TV on KHMP 18.8 Las Vegas returned after a brief absence. All I saw of them was an ID and an informercial before tuning to something else. It was reported that my late evening they were airing an ID for Campesina, and airing a program broadcast from the Campesina radio network control room. That is what I noticed on Tuesday morning. YouTube style videos still air at various times, minus the reference to 702.TV.
GET TV has returned to Las Vegas airwaves, now on KNBX 31.2. The network signal was launched last evening, without fanfare or audio. Twelve hours later the service is still minus any audio.
Entering Phoenix-area ZIP codes into titantv.com local broadcast listings show CHARGE! on KAZT 7.4.
I re-scanned and there's no 7.4 on KAZT's stream. Either this is a mistake with TitanTV or KAZT has yet to add this.
The Charge! website doesn't show any affiliation in Phoenix.
However, KTVK is now announcing that Comet TV is coming to channel 3.2 on August 1.
I sent an e-mail to AZTV asking about Charge! and was told that it is not official yet, but should be coming soon. Probably still working out the contract details.
These are some corrections on CIUDAD JUAREZ-EL PASO-LAS CRUCES area:
a) XHCJE 1.2 adn 40 is in SD 16:9
b) XHJCI 2.1 calls "Las Estrellas" is in HD 1080i
XHJCI 2.2 calls " Las Estrellas El Paso" is in HD 720p
c) XHCTCJ 3.1 is in HD 1080i
d) KDBC 4.2 is in HD 720p since las tuesday aug. 01 2017
e) XHCJH 20.2 calls "a+" and is in SD 16:9
f) K26KJ-D made changes:
25.1 is a mix of "Mulimedios Televisión", Teleritmo" and
Local, and is in HD 720p
25.2 is "Milenio Televisión" and is in SD 16:9
25.3 is a translator of "XHABC canal 28 of Chihuahua
Capital", and is in SD 16:9
g) XHIJ made changes:
44.1 "El canal de las noticias" is in HD 1080i
44.2 "El canal de las noticias -2 hrs" is in SD
44.3 "Una Voz Con Todos / UACJ TV" is in SD
44.4 "World TV" is in SD
h) KTDO:
48.3 Inmigrante TV is no more and is with cromatic bars
