This site does have Market Listings, although they are not always current for all markets. The next time I am in either city and get a chance to get readings of the local television lineups, I will publish them in this blog.

As for KBFY, they didn't have a lot of choice. Between Yuma-El Centro, Mexicali and San Luis Rio Colorado, the local TV spectrum is quite crowded. RF channel 2 was actually chosen several years and two owners ago. Under that owner - Powell Meredith Communications - KBFY had an extremely difficult time finding a home since being displaced from RF channel 41 by KYMA over 15 years ago. They even tried to relocate to Vegas and were initially granted a construction permit, but it was rescinded. The station has mainly been silent since being displaced.

I'm not well-versed in plans for ATSC 3.0 encryption, but I'm not convinced yet that there is malicious intent toward viewers, nor am I so naive to think there couldn't be. There is an ATSC 3.0 thread on AVS Forum and another on Radio Discussions where you can get more informed discussion than I could ever offer.
Arizona TV Station Update - April 2022 - Mike in phxurn:md5:69331258b7259bcf8f9f8f8e31227d3e2022-05-19T04:08:50-04:002022-05-19T04:08:50-04:00Mike in phx
Forgot to mention, it's almost shocking that KBFY transitioned to low band (Ch2)! I'm guessing it's because they're on the border so there wasn't a choice as Mexico isn't about to re-pack for our sake, but still a big surprise to me, anyway.

As a ham (amateur) radio op, guess that also means 6m (old Ch1) won't be useful anymore down there although the strict filters required now may make that less of a problem.
Arizona TV Station Update - April 2022 - Mike in phoenixurn:md5:21179e5116e0f0c63c3ad9dba3e2871e2022-05-19T03:35:11-04:002022-05-19T03:35:11-04:00Mike in phoenix
Since you did the lineup for Phoenix & Tucson, can you also do one for Las Vegas & maybe Yuma / El Centro as well?

Also, I just found out a couple weeks ago about the upcoming encryption switch-on for ATSC-3. What are your opinions on it and can you point where it's being discussed here or elsewhere? As for me, I'm very unhappy at that (& all the other stuff screwing over the viewer to benefit the broadcaster) and am so glad I never bought an ATSC-3 box.
Arizona TV Station Update - April 2022 - Bleen Glooburn:md5:d6d133f4aebc07870baf26763b26c63b2022-05-15T19:41:31-04:002022-05-15T19:41:31-04:00Bleen Gloob
KOLD 13.4 in Tucson is now running a coming soon sign and is no longer showing KOLD 13.1 in SD.
Arizona TV Station Update - April 2022 - dhetturn:md5:a6833bf80d985128d618cf0da6de6f342022-05-08T04:31:41-04:002022-05-08T04:31:41-04:00dhett
I stand corrected on KWBA - I didn't actually look at the subchannels on that one.

KFTU-CD had only 2 subchannels on 4/17, the last time I did a reading; it wouldn't surprise me if they added the other two.

KFTU-DT broadcasts on RF channel 36, which is the same RF channel that KUVE-CD uses. Douglas is in the Tucson market, but you're not going to pick up KFTU-DT in Tucson proper. If you are, I'd love to know which area of the city.
Arizona TV Station Update - April 2022 - Lee Sullyurn:md5:6a8a261a0dfd17fcb298387f6945ffc02022-05-07T23:08:38-04:002022-05-07T23:08:38-04:00Lee Sully
Other Tucson Corrections:
