Programming changes

  • The new Justice Network launches January 20 and has an agreement from Gannett to carry it at launch on their stations. If so, it is unclear whether it will air on KPNX 12.x Mesa, whether it would replace weather programming on 12.2, or if it would be added to 12.3, or if it would be added to 12.2, moving the weather programming to channel 12.3.
  • KGUN-TV 9.x Tucson (Journal Broadcast Corporation) has dropped Live Well Network from channel 9.3, following the shutdown of the network. In its place, KGUN has added ThisTV programming to channel 9.3. The programming change is also found on its northwest metro translator K16EO-D 9.x.
  • K18JL-D Phoenix (Mako Communications LLC) has replaced the color bars on channel 25.1 with a no-audio broadcast of GNTV Latino.
  • KTVP-LD 22.x Phoenix (Mako Communications LLC) has dropped the Rev'n Network from channel 22.4.
  • KPHE-LD 44.x (16) Phoenix (Lotus TV of Phoenix LLC) briefly replaced Retro TV programming on channel 44.2 with the Rev'n network, then switched it back to Retro TV. It then added a fifth subchannel, 44.5, designated SmartAZ. Currently a black screen, it is likely to become the new home of Smart Lifestyle TV, which has now been replaced on channel 44.3 by Rev'n. The new subchannel shows in the station's terrestrial virtual channel table but does not appear in the program association table.
  • Good News Broadcasting Network, Inc., is claiming to be on the air in Yuma on channel 39.
  • TeleRomántica has disappeared from KFPB-LD 50.6 (Globe LPTV, LLC), having been replaced by a blank screen.

  • KGRQ-LD 19.x (29) Gila River Indian Co (Gila River Telecommunications, Inc.) has begun broadcasting from its Stotonic antenna site. So far, one channel is available, airing PBS-style public affairs programming that one might expect to see from a government-run TV station.

I would point out that this Public Notice suspends the expiration dates for all the CPs noted. https://apps.fcc.gov/edocs_public/a...

In Las Vegas, KNBX did not dropp History of Television on their 31.4 berth. The network continues to suffer from occasional lapses of service as the pc based delivery service suffers from fatigue. When KNBX-31 loses HOT, it takes a cal or e-mail to TX to reboot the service in Las Vegas. All is well today with both KNBX and HOT.

KEEN 17.7 Las Vegas has reverted to Car2ns, now that the holiday season is over. XMAS may re-appear next year on the same sub-channel with nonstop holiday programming.

Yes, according to Titan, KTNV-13 will add Heroes & Icons at 11 pm Sunday January 11. The same network will also be added to the KTNV 13.2 sub-channel with an alternate feed of select programming, along with KTNV inserted local programming. In essesnce, Las Vegas will have two channels of different H&I programming at some hours of the day, while at other times the programs wil be a simulcast. This, according to Titan.

KHMP-1 Las Vegas has only their main sub-channel (AMG) in service currently. 18.2, 18.3 and 18.4 are all shooting blanks.

KGNG has restored PBJ service to Las Vegas on their 47.7, bumping holiday infomercials.

Phoenix Cable Market: We receive COX cable analog via coax (no Set Top Box) at no cost through our HOA. Today turning on the tube, noticed all of the OTA stations are missing - (MeTV on 7.2, the locals KPHO 5.1, 5.2, 12.1 and so on) which usually were carried over the same coax. Not sure if this is a temporary loss of carrier OR if Cox is removing analog cable for STB only reception? Is this what is happening I wonder? Heard rumour that cable providers won the "must carry" battle and that eventually we will all be obligated to use STBs in order to receive ANY programming. Unsure if this is the beginning of that or if it's just a little temporary error....

(wish we had an EDIT button :/ ) Back from Phoenix AZ- say- only a few of those OTA broadcasts are "missing"- not all of them: 61-1 and the PBSes are gone. Saddened the cable co's won the must carry battle, and that we all are forced to go digital eventually. A sad change!

Trip: Good to know the FCC suspended expiration dates for new CPs.

RDvegas: Can't tell what's going on with HOT TV without a scorecard. I must have missed the post where the service was restored finally.

This is to Kristin (Re: Comments 3 and 4 above): I live in Orlando, Florida where Bright House Networks (BHN) is the main Cable provider for both the Orlando DMA and the Tampa DMA. BHN used 2014 to change all their analog channels to digital channels. All subscribers were notified at least 90 days in advance of the conversion, and those of us that still have analog televisions (I am one of them) had to go to the local BHN office and get a Digital Adapter Box at a cost of $12 a year ($1 a month). My guess is that you may need a small box like that for your TV. Your cable provider will tell you what you need and install it for you, if necessary.

Something I've never seen before is a TV station broadcasting 2 HD channels, but that is what Univision 33.x and Unimas 35.x are doing on their first 2 digital channels on each. I for one, am impressed.

Justice Network debuted today. It's on channel 12.3, while channel 12.2 continues to air weather.

Amazing Facts TV (AFTV) now airs on channel 25 under the banner of Good News TV, and with sound.  The station ID appears at the bottom left of the screen:  K18JL-D Phoenix Channel 25.

Station K21MD-D has changed its call sign to KGRY-LD, and broadcasts from the Blackwater antenna site.  Station K19JV-D has changed its call sign to KGRF-LD and is set to debut soon from the Maricopa Village antenna site, west of Laveen, according to a publication from the Gila River Indian Community.

Las Vegas viewers, and a few nearby Arizona viers, can now see a simulcast of KCYE-FM 102.7 on KEGS 30.6. This is an audio channel with a video crawl ID-ing as 102.7 Country. It replaces the colorbars that have been on Mako's KEGS 30.6 for just about 2 months

Any station can broadcast 2 HD signals, provided that both of them are 720p, and they are the only signals.

Stations that broadcast a 1080p HD signal can only use SD for any of their subchannels.

RE: Comment #11 by Tracy

Actually, KTVW and KFPH are broadcasting in 1080i for both Univision and Unimas signals, plus 480i broadcasts of Grit on KTVW and getTV and Escape on KFPH in 480i. Haven't seen any pixelation issues yet, but I haven't been able to catch their signals during a soccer match, which is where I would most likely expect to find pixelation.

HypnoBirthing can be considered a complete birth education programme, that shows simple but specific self-hypnosis, comfort and
breathing methods of a far greater birth.

HypnoBirthing is far more than simply self-hypnosis
or hypnosis for making a newborn baby.

It looks as if K38AI-D has been off the air since last weekend. K11LC-D is still transmitting in Prescott.

What is going on at KPHE 44.x? We now have PB&J missing on 44.4 and then 44.5, 44.6, 44.7 and 44.8 all showing Smart AZ.

In Las Vefgas, KINC 15.3 has had their PSIP pulled, and the sub-channel has disappeared. Programming had been a simulcast of Entravision's KELV 27.1 Unimas network. This occured late on 31 January 2015.
