Trip's Sudden Unexplained Absence

Just wanted to let everyone know that the sudden dearth of updates from me to the website in general is due to my purchasing of a house. It's eating every bit of time I have, and even time I don't have. Closing is tomorrow, then moving over the weekend (vacation time has been taken for it, too), then hopefully, shortly after that, a return to normal.

Congratulations!

I've been helping a close friend negotiate a triple move. Enormous amounts of bureaucracy, all well worth it once complete.

Be grateful you're doing this in 2014 when much of the "paperwork" is handled electronically. I bought mine in 1994 when email and the Internet simply were not part of the equation.

My feet were sore from standing over a fax machine for hours, and I couldn't write for a week after signing my name a few hundred times:)

Thanks!

What's a triple move? I've never even heard of that.

And yes, I was thinking about that earlier. I cannot imagine trying to do all of this paperwork before the Internet. I probably would have burned a lot of vacation time trying to deal with it all.

Congrats!

Hopefully you'll be allowed to put up a tower on your property and as mount as many TV antennas that will fit on it.

Great for you! It's probably none of my business, but is this a house in which you can raise a family?

Thanks. =)

I've got a decent view toward the DC and Baltimore stations, but I'm losing some altitude over my current location. Still, I should be able to get every station I want to be able to watch with my antenna in the attic or on the roof. I suspect it will be better due to the added clearance, as I'm currently looking into the street behind the house, but in the new house I'll be looking over the nearest obstructions other than trees. In any case, I intend to have the antennas I want in great locations!

Brian, it has three bedrooms, so I'd say yes, but we haven't gotten that far down the road yet!

Congratulations!! I think you'll find that being a homeowner is a time-consuming endeavor, but I can assure you that it's one well worth it.

Congrats - hope this is as good for you as my new one is for me! Once done, I'm sure you'll not want to sign your name for a while... (Other than the inevitable constant trips to Home Depot...)
