  • K20FO Sierra Vista (KVOA Communications LLC) has requested a license to cover its correction of transmitter location and power. Technical specifications: Ch 20; TL 31° 28' 54" N, 109° 57' 33" W; ERP 42 kW directional; HAAT 641 m.
  • KMCC 34.x (32) Lauglin NV (Cranston Acquisition LLC) has amended its application to cover its Distributed Transmission System (DTS) license to delete the antenna structure registration and correct technical specifications of its Henderson site. Technical specifications: Ch 32; TL 35° 56' 46" N, 115° 2' 35" W; ERP 5 kW directional; HAAT 538 m.

Arizona TV Station Update - November 2016

As always, questions, additions, comments and corrections welcome.

Programming changes

  • KAET 8.x Phoenix (Arizona Board of Regents for ASU) has once again added channel 8.5, this time duplicating the KBAQ-FM radio programming on channel 8.4. Channel 8.4 is due to become PBS Kids on January 17, 2017. The changes extend to all of KAET's digital translators as well.
  • KSAZ 10.x Phoenix (NW Communications of Phoenix, Inc.) is set to launch Light TV, a family-oriented diginet, sometime in December. Press releases say that it will be on KSAZ-TV, but Fox could put it on KUTP. A request for information from KSAZ-TV has gone unanswered. This change will extend to all of KSAZ-TV's digital translators as well.

  • KPPX-TV 51.x (31) Tolleson (America 51, LP) applied for and was granted a license to cover its change from RF channel 51 to RF channel 31. Technical specifications: Ch 31; TL 33° 20' 3" N, 112° 3' 41" W (South Mtn.); ERP 645 kW horiz/161.25 kW vert non-directional (1° electrical beam tilt); HAAT 548 m.
  • KNXV-TV 15.x Phoenix (Scripps Media, Inc.) applied for and was granted a license to cover a construction permit for auxiliary facilities. Technical specifications: Ch 15; TL 33° 20' 0" N, 112° 3' 49" W (South Mtn.); ERP 530 kW non-directional (0.75° electrical beam tilt); HAAT 491 m.

Arizona TV Station Update - August/September 2016

Programming changes

  • KTVK 3.x (24) Phoenix (KPHO Broadcasting Corporation) is reported on the Comet TV website to be picking up Comet TV on channel 3.2, which would replace the current 24/7 newscast loop. No date has been given, and there has been no confirmation from KTVK.
  • KASW 61.x (49) Phoenix (Nexstar Broadcasting, Inc.), following its newly-inked deal with Katz Broadcasting, as added Grit on channel 61.3 and Escape on channel 61.4, duplicating programming already seen on Univision's KTVW-DT 33.3 and KFPH-CD 35.4, respectively.

  • KAET 8.x Phoenix (Arizona Board of Regents for ASU) has dropped channel 8.5. No programming had ever appeared on the subchannel.
  • KVOA 4.x (23) Tucson and translator K04QP-D 4.x Casas Adobes (KVOA Communications LLC) have launched Escape on channel 4.3, giving the diginet two outlets in the Old Pueblo, airing on four stations.

Arizona TV Station Update - June 2016

Programming changes

  • KAET 8.x Phoenix (Arizona Board of Regents for ASU) has added channel 8.5 to its PSIP. Labeled KBAQ2, it is presumed that it will be a secondary stream of audio from KBAQ-FM 89.5 Phoenix.
  • KPAZ-TV 21.x (20) Phoenix (Trinity Broadcasting of Arizona) has replaced programming from The Church Channel with the Hillsong Channel, a new joint venture of TBN and Hillsong Church of Sydney, Australia. The same programming change has occurred in all other TBN-owned stations that carry the standard programming streams.

  • KPVT-LD 2.x (27) Pahrump NV (DNV Spectrum Holdings, LLC) has applied for and been granted a license to cover construction of a digital companion channel to KPVT-LP 30 Pahrump NV. Technical specifications: Ch 27; TL 36° 0' 34" N, 115° 0' 22" W (Black Mtn.); ERP 15 kW directional; HAAT 310 m.

  • Almavision has fixed its transmission problems, and its programming is once again airing on Mako Communications LLC stations KTVP-LD 22.5 Phoenix and KEGS-LD 30.2 Las Vegas NV.
  • K18JL-D 25.x Phoenix (Mako Communications LLC) is silent, possibly for good? The AZ Conference of 7th Day Adventists have moved Amazing Facts TV from its own spot on GNTV2 channel 25.1 to sharing time with 3ABN, Hope Channel and LLBN on GNTV channel 22.1.
